The big land areas are the hardest to make successful, but only if you try to think big too quickly. I think starting small and then connecting quickly to other cities is one of the keys to staying out of debt, though I've found that the actual exchange between one city square and adjacent ones is kind of unpredictable. Then I had money to quickly build a university and big hospitals, put in tourist attractions, etc., and it kind of snowballed form there. Just built a highway interchange and connected to some neighboring cities. I think it was a success in large part because it was small and so I didn't put too much money into zoning, roads, etc. There was all this investment and I ended up with over 1,000,000 simolians and not even enough space to spend all my cold cash. I've had this happen while my population is either staying steady or slowly rising (I think), and, like I said, it will happen to buildings that have just recently been built. Maybe it was happening to the high class buildings because they built them but the rich population was too low.ĭoes anyone know what the factors are that cause SC4's sim engine to decide to build a building within a zone? You'd think if it was purely based on demand that the building would stay occupied for a while after being built unless your population suddenly plummets. I've seen it happen within a couple of real time minutes to a brand new high class apartment high rise (in cheetah mode). It also does it to businesses too, and to all manner of buildings, both rich and poor. When I stop blowing off time at work and go home, I'll crank up SC4 again and see what's going on in these dirty buildings. Please help SimCity by expanding it, adding pictures, and improving existing text.So maybe I should zone less residential if they're building buldings that no one lives in. This building increases your chance for Mayor (if you have a failing setting for your city) and extend people's lives. On some occasions if watching the building you will see chimps and apes dressed like scientist (possible failed experiment) They will run around the area and then despawned.

This building has a small radiation (2x2) but it has the largest medical radius. This large medical hospital comes with an ambulance (needed to unlock other buildings) and a Medical chopper (a + Mayor rating mission and a - Mayor rating +60,000 simoleons mission) If you decided to get this building first it has a large radius (with the slowest time to health in houses). This standard clinic does not come with an ambulance or copter, but plays a role in " Give Jenny a Hand and a Heart" mission. If multiple clinics are added which radi's intersect the health overall the houses its covers will increase healht from Poor to Excellent over 3–4 years. University (see gifts) A reward by completing " Organs for Profit" Mission, its the largest range of Education radius, and provides ampule education to everyone that's near it.Ī standard clinic that's only 2x1, it has a small radius of health but if added to funding the radius will expand. This type of educational building acts like a highschool radius but serves as both a Highschool and Elementary School. Private School (see gifts) A reward by completing " Bring Little Birmingham to School" (close name), you can either get one of the 3 schools unlocked in the education bar or gifts bar. The second largest range of Education radius, if added with the Highschool or Elementary school radii then your education will soar much faster including with muesums or libraries. This building is required for a number of muesums + an education rate (estimated) to unlock the Major Art Museum.
